HK Series 1: L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon (Hong Kong)

In the newest 2009 Michelin Guide Hong Kong/Macau, L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon (Hong Kong) was awarded with two michelin stars . I visited the restaurant in January, 2008 and accidentally pumped into Mr.Robuchon . Hallway
The restaurant is located on the fourth floor of the Landmark Building in Central. The elevator opened its doors to a long and dark hallway which led to L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon.

Open Kitchen
My companions and I were seated at the bar, infront of the open kitchen.

Tomato and mozzarella Salad
The tomato mozzarella salad ordered by me was a bit plain, but the flavor of the appetitzers ordered by my friends were simple, clean, and spot on.
Lamb Chops with World Famous Robuchon Potatoes


Filet Mignon and Mac n' ChesseDuck Confit in Potato Custard
The robuchon mashed potato was rich and fluffy, something to die for. The meats were perfectly cooked, nice and tender at the center with a delicious crust at the outside. What striked me the most was the perfect seasoning in every dish. The only other restaurant I visited which reached this level of seasoning perfection was Chez Panisse.
Chocolate Mousse with Vanilla Ice Cream
Orange Sorbet
The orange sorbet had perefect acidity pairing the crispy cigar cones, very refreshing. The Chocolate Mousse with Vanilla Ice Cream was rich and creamy.

Expresso
Overall, the lunch was delicious. The most memoriable thing on the plates was the simple mashed potato.
